Lihir Island is located on a geothermally active extinct volcanic crater in the New Ireland Province of Papua New Guinea and is one of the world’s largest producing gold mines.

The processing plant consisting of crushing, grinding, flotation, pressure oxidation and NCA circuit.

Our Partnership

International Mill Relines has serviced the Lihir project since 2020 with varying services, including their mill reline requirements, reline & shutdown coordination, and supply of specialised tooling.

Implementation

Newcrest supports PNG-based suppliers and businesses, including the utilization of IMR’s PNG based crew numbering upwards of 60 plus personnel.
